Chief Designer

Qloud is a new, VC-backed Internet service revolutionizing the music world. Qloud takes all of the music information inside user’s iTunes and makes it available to all users through a browser-based, AJAX interface. Qloud then allows users to browse through everyone’s iTunes and play it all, on an unlimited, on-demand basis, all for free. (How do we do that? What’s on our site now is just a shell. Ping us, we’ll get you on our dev server, and we’ll talk . . . )

Qloud is looking for a Chief Designer to be the creator of this experience. Please get in touch with us if you are looking for lots of freedom and responsibility to create a cutting-edge user experience in a very dedicated but casual, fun work environment.

Requirements:

Passion for creating great user experiences
Obsession for detail
Eagerness to make web pages function like desktop apps
Portfolio of work demonstrating superior user experience documentation production
(Preferred) Portfolio of work demonstrating superior and captivating visual design production
Expertise with all necessary software and authoring languages such as Adobe Creative Suite
Familiarity with client-side browser technologies
Plenty of experience in web-based user experience
Degree in industrial design, interaction design, graphic design or related field (preferred; if you are a self-taught design genius, that’ fine with us)
Love of music

Responsibilities:

Create user interaction model, workflows, IA, prototypes, wireframes, designs
(Preferred) Create visual design and graphics for service as well (with support of a production designer)
Observe/lead usability studies and iterate UI designs, focusing on user experience
Work closely with developers and team to deliver the final product
